This is a special place, it's run by wonderful and dedicated people. You can see old machinery at work and ride a model railroad! They have free admission days in May, so mark you calendar!

One of the best places the U.S. has to offer on the history of anything with an engine. Multiple beautiful museums modeled after by gone eras. A must see if you're in the area!

This is a "must stop" location. Plan to spend the better part of your day here. Coming here is like a time machine that takes you back 50, 75, or 100 years. You get to see everything just as it was from streetcars to agriculture, fire apparatus, trucks-you name it and it's here. Probably several models of it. Everything is meticulously restored or preserved in working order. The static displays: sawmill, blacksmith, power plant, etc. are amazing. This place really comes to life every summer for their annual "Steam-Up". People from all-over bring their restored equipment for live display. I plan my summer around this event. It takes place the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August. I'm there all 4 days and never feel like I've seen it all.

I highly recommend this Museum. Even though we visited in what I would consider the off-season the manager / greeter was extremely helpful. He called ahead to make sure that several exhibits were open or available and checked on us throughout our tour we virtually had the place to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed it. We plan on going back next year for at least one of their activities. Thank you!
