One of the best places you can take your child/children in Portland. We have been taking our son there since he was 8mo and loves it. They have lots of fun activities and areas for kids to explore and practice imaginative play. They have a water area that is very fun, theater, vet hospital, and more. It is best to go early morning as they open because it get packed quick. They have a gift/toy shop, and a caffeteria but limited seating. The membership is totally worth it

So much to do! If your little isn't a walker I'd say don't bother, yet. If your little is a walker by all means this place is a blast. There's a tree house, a construction area, a vet hospital, a theatre, an enchanted Forest, a maker lab, a classy studio, cars and trains, water room, and an outdoor play area. However, the price is a little steep, ten bucks a head, but there are a lot of deals through the Oregon trail card, Chinook book, various credit cards, and such so see if you can bring it down. If you plan on going a lot than the membership is awesome.

Well needless to say it is an amazing place. Very well thought through and the staff are great. I would advise visitor's to beautiful Portland to arrive early, when opened, as few people are usually at the museum. Expect to stay for 4 hours as you can view the entire museum with ease and no rushing.
They have a clay facilities so if you want to take home your creation you have to come back a few days after building to pick it up.
A must see in Portland, if you have kids.

The membership is a godsend for a SAHM. I have a 2.5 yr old and a 4 yr old. It never gets old and gives you a break. Love to tool area. A safe place to let your toddlers use power tools and employees that engage with them. Like REAL tools! It's so awesome.

The day we went there were multiple schools s scheduled in the same day. It was an absolute madhouse. So many kids you had to be careful where you stepped. They also closed some of the exhibits to those of us on field trips. We enjoyed the outside area as well. The water exhibit was one of the favorites as well as the clay.
