Such an incredibly cool place! There is so much to look at, and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The meteorite talk was super interesting and my husband and I enjoyed talking with the guide/educator. We spent around 3.5 hours there, and it was well worth the price of admission. They have an extensive collection of petrified wood, and a really cool UV room where the rocks light up like glow sticks! It really is a cool experience, and the house that it was converted from is cool to see as well.

An amazing museum. I've been on many field trips here and to the Easter egg hunt they do and it's been great every time. I learn something new each time I've gone. I could look and learn about all the different rocks and gems the have all day. The staff was friendly and helpful and very informative. Can't wait for our next visit.

We got the pleasure of visiting the museum on a business trip to the area, for a rock and mineral admirer this place is the best place to be. We got lucky enough to walk around the museum with the awesome and highly knowledgeable tour guide Jordan during our visit. The museum is beautifully arranged and contains some very breathtaking specimens. This is a must visit location for everyone, but especially you rock hounds...prepare to be inspired, you'll be slicing through those hundreds of pounds of rough stone you've been collecting over the years in no time after being here. The gift shop has great prices and the admission to the museum is a great price. We will definitely be back again.

We went for the thunder egg Easter hunt. I was really hoping the egg hunt would be more exciting then I heard it was only thier second year. I would love to make this a yearly family Easter egg hunt and vendors or something. The "egg hunt" was kind of lame (I say that with love) and with all of that beautiful property it could habe been awesome! I'm not from Oregon but I would totally send some ideas and volunteer time next year! It was still interesting educational and very beautiful! We will be going to visit and definitely next year for the thunder eggs!

My family and I have visited this museum many times and always have a wonderful experience. It has an extraordinary collections of rock and minerals from near and far. My favorites are the fossils and meteorites. My kids love all the hands on displays, the phosphorescent rocks that glow under the black lights, and of course the rock pile from which they get to choose a souvenir. I also like the stories that go along with some of the specimens.
