What a great museum! I took my 4 year old wondering if he’d be old enough to engage and he absolutely loved it. They had an amazing temporary exhibit on robots. We also loved the science playground. As a bonus, we’ve been trying to get him to accept that we’re having a little brother soon, and there was a huge display on human life in the womb. Very helpful to have visuals!

Good museum alongside the Willamette River. Space is arranged so the exhibits are easily navigable. The planetarium is next door so you can get a different experience. Air conditioned inside, which is a plus on hot days. If you want a place to take the kids where they can learn more about the world around them, this is a good option.

We love OMSI. It is like a children's museum, plus a ton of stuff for older kids and adults. My kids love the chemistry lab and Planetarium movies. There is an area with small animals and a fossil lab as well. It is a fun place to spend the day and their restaurant is even quite yummy if you don't want to pack a lunch.

We went to an OMSI after dark event. It was based around brunch restaurants and it was horrible. They had some eateries that I really like with staff working very hard. The problem is that they WAY oversold tickets. It was so packed that it was hard to tell where one line began and another ended. Each person is given tickets for food samples and ticket for drinks. You also got this cute little cup for tasting. The lines for drinks we're so ridiculously long that my husband and I just couldn't see waiting 45 minutes for a wine sample we may hate. The food was easier to access but most had bite size waffles to try. After about three they all ran together in my mind. Total waste of time.

So many interactive exhibits! We set aside three hours and still barely had enough time for everything. The gift shop is of course pricey, but that's the case anywhere you go. We didn't see anything other than the main museum, so if you're adding the planetarium or sub tour or special exhibits, expect to add even more time. Parking is tight but there's city parking a couple blocks away that's only 5.50 for all day. All in all, worth the money for all there is to see!
