Avis Car Rental

In the last 12 months we have rented 5 cars. 4 if the cars rented were from Avis Rentals Pocatello Airport. We have been assisted by 3 different representatives, all have been very friendly and helpful. We do call out there in advance to make sure there are vehicles available. We have felt that the representatives have listened to our needs and provided the vehicle that was best suited for that particular rental period. We have unique travel needs and they are willing to assist us with a specific vehicle for a trip 2 full months in advance. The team there is earning our loyalty one rental at a time.

My husband picked up his car and went straight to a job interview. When they needed his license for paperwork he didn't have it. He looked everywhere, in the rental, his bag, and it wasn't anywhere to be found. So he called the Avis location immediately at 2 pm and no one answered. When he went to drop off the car at 6:30 pm because they close at 7 (it was due at 7pm), NO ONE was there except a janitor who told him the guy always leaves early and he could leave the key on the desk. My husband was luckily able to make special arrangements to get through security at the airport with out photo ID and got on his flight the next morning. I can't BELIEVE the lack of professionalism by this company. First, the guy leaves early. Then it's 3 pm the next day and this guy calls me (after I left a message and called many times the morning of his flight with no answer) to tell me they have his license... He was already home in Arizona. What a joke. I also called the corporate number at 6:30 pm the day he returned the car and no one answered either... they said they closed at 7:30! But they do not specify what time zone. I left messages with them too and haven't heard back.

We showed up at 6:40 on a Monday evening to pick up our car rental and NO ONE WAS THERE (close at 7:00). I walked through the entire airport, even peeked in the out buildings hoping to find someone. When we finally got through to corporate on the phone (after 7:00 pm by then) all they said was it was after 7:00 and they closed at 7:00 and we needed to come back at 10:00 that night!! We tried to explain that we have been calling and looking for someone for 45 minutes. This was so ridiculous and lacked professionalism...yeah, we wait until 10:00 pm to get a car rental we reserved a month before to drive 3 1/2 hours!

We have to rent a car every time we go out of town to stock up for our business and three times out of the 5 times we've tried to rent from them there has been an issue. They either "don't have any vehicles" or "their computers are down".

The manager there, Jerry Cook, could not have been more friendly and helpful. We really appreciated his service!
