Budget Car Rental

I was a little concerned after reading the other reviews, but I guess some people are born to complain. It was the easiest pickup of a rental car ever. Fast and efficient. Im sure if the line is long that people just get impatient if they have to wait, those people should just take a bus! Great customer service!

Very upset with the customer service I received today. We booked with budget 9 days ago and specifically asked if we could use our debit card without a return flight. -WE WOULD NOT HAVE BOOKED WITHOUT THIS CAVIAT because we do not have a credit card and haven’t for a while and this is not our first rodeo. We showed up with all of our bags packed and kids excited to go see their aunt for the last time before she leaves for 18 months. I went to the front counter that was staffed by Jerry, who promptly told me that their policy was to deny debit cards unless you have a return trip. I explained that I specifically asked if this was ok with their customer service and they checked and said it was. Jerry said he didn’t care and that this was Budget’s policy, a back and forth went on for a bit with Jerry being extremely rude. I finally asked to speak to a manager and he emphatically refused to put me through to his manager. After several attempts at dissuading me, he attempted to STARE ME DOWN! Eventually he caved and he called his manager, who by the way was much more customer oriented and had the decency to listen to my complaint. Still nothing ever came of it, and my kids will not get to see there aunt one last time before she leaves for missionary service. I will absolutely NEVER use budget for anything ever again. This upsets me because when I have lived elsewhere I have had incredible experiences with budget and used them frequently. Regarding the policy: this is a terrible self serving policy that encourages consumers to dive deeper into debt and bondage. You are excluding a significant number of people who are willing to drop money to use your services. I even told the guy I am willing to have a hold placed on my debit card. A policy that other companies are willing to do. Regarding Jerry, fire him. As a manager of a service providing company, I would do everything I could to remove him from a customer facing position if he worked for me. If I ever heard of one of my employees staring down a customer his butt would be out the door faster than he could say the word “policy”.

I made a pick up reservation 8p.m. I received a phone call at 7:46p m. asking if I was still coming in for my car because they shut off their system at 8. When I got there the girl was nice and upgrade us. The car was dirty though. Well I called because my card was charged twice. The lady kept interrupting me and being a bit rude. She said my refund was processed and call back Friday. I called on a Monday to ask about my claim. She said give it a few more days and call back What a headache.
