Barstow / Calico KOA

First night of camping across the southern U.S. states while moving from California to Tennessee. A very nice campground with clean bathrooms and good showers. We did have a minor uh-oh moment when we realized our tent site had several ant nests but a can of raid and our vinal tarp tent pads fixed that right away. It's 10pm and very quiet even with I-15 about 1500 feet away. Very friendly staff, camp store seems to be stocked well and the management helped ensure that our tent site with water and power was big enough for both tents and the car. If I was ever coming back this way I'd stay here again

Got the safari tent and we thought it was awesome. We ended up parking on someone's campsite. I don't think they have parking by the tent, but we did see a parking lot/area in the morning.

Very dog friendly! Store & staff are friendly. Facilities older but clean. Calico is interesting but was built by the Knotts Berry Farm folks (touristy). Barstow is a short drive away. Very central.

Awesome staff and groundsmen. Clean amenities. Love spending weekends here when I Off road the hill of Calico. Gas stations near by. But beware ,they are pricy. Grocery stores 5 min south on the 15 in the city of Barstow

Sites are staggered so you don't feel too close to your neighbors. Nice view of the desert and hills. Lots of open space. Walk or ride right into the desert. Calico is fun and so interesting.
