Berkeley Animal Care Services-Pound

I adopted a kitten three years ago and a three legged little full grown cat after that. Those adoptions weren't easy because it means years of care so I went in many many times before finally adopting and was able to get to know the staff who are wonderful. One day, I brought in a dog that I found on the streets with spray paint on it and they took him in quickly.

On Wednesday I'm picking up the third dog we have adopted from this shelter over the past 25 years. From the old shelter we all remember, to the beautiful facility Berkeley boasts now... The one thing that has never changed has been the commitment of the amazing staff and volunteers who care so much about the beautiful animals in their care, and about every visitor who come to visit. They share in one of the most important experiences a family can have. Another thing that has never changed is the number of dogs and cats who need a loving home... Go now, and share our experience.... And enjoy the abundant love of a furry friend.

I want to thank the animal care services for their help with the death of our dear pet Tinkerbell.they were very helpful and understanding in our time of need.

The supervisor and all staff members were hardworking and dedicated. we are very grateful as is our dog Loogan for their work this Saturday morning.

Do you like dogs but your apartment building doesn't allow them? Well you should come here and become a volunteer dog walker! It's fun to meet all these different dogs and see what it is like to walk them. Plus you get to see the puppies (and visit with them) when they come in. If you're looking to adopt a dog, I highly suggest becoming a volunteer walker and going regularly because you really get a feel for what the dogs are like. There are some very sweet pit bulls and other breeds that are super mellow.
