3 1/2 stars to be exact. Visited ARF several times although haven't adopted a pet yet. Staff are all courteous, some very friendly. The whole place is big, clean, and has a small store that sells all the essential supplies.
I liked how the counselor would take the time to speak with the potential adopters to find out what pet they are looking for, and show the available dogs/cats that might be good candidates. People can then go inside the cat's living quarter to have a close interaction with the cat; or walk the dog outside to see how they like it. I also liked that they only show healthy animals to people.
What I didn't like was that I was taking the time to find the right pet, and I noticed that the counselor began to look impatient after awhile.
Overall, a pretty good place to adopt a dog/cat. Do prepare to spend more than 1 hour there if you are serious about adopting.

ARF is a first class organization. The building is spotless. The voulenters are great. There Dogs and Cats living quarters are beyond nice. 5 thumbs up!

Fantastic group, honestly it was a bit weird to be asked questions when we went in for a puppy but I'm grateful they did otherwise we wouldn't have the great dog we have now.

This place was a god send years ago. Things have changed so much that I don't bother trying to get an appt. anymore. I have had the best and the worst Tony La Rusa's has to offer and I have to say "Thank You from the bottom of my heart" for your loving care of Fluffy, Harry, & Honey. On the other hand it is hard to forget your total abandonment of my momma kitty when she was dying in my arms due to incorrect instructions given to me for her diabetes medication. Your refusal to see her even though she was in your clinic having seizures right in front of you. Knowing she was receiving ongoing care from your Vets and they had ordered the insulin shots that had caused whatever was happening to her, you turned me away and told me to drive her across town to the emergency vet. Why, because you don't treat emergencies, even if your treatment of her may be the cause of the emergency. I lost my 19 year old baby that horrible day and I will never forget the cold, unapologetic treatment that I received that day. You are responsible for momma's death and for that I will never fully trust in your care of animals again. So there it is. They are the best and the worst in animal care.

Unbelievably beautiful facility housing (sheltering) dogs & cats, providing them with love, socialization and forever home location. It also has an animal supply store and show cases baseball memorabilia, autographed guitars from famous guitarists.
