Blufin Sushi

Let me start with it’s a beautiful location and with all the wonderful things I have heard about the restaurant I was prepared to have a great evening with my best friend for her birthday. We where greeted with stares as if we didn’t belong. That is before we walked into the dining area but I can say we didn’t have to wait long before we received more stares. Our waitress was a nice lady on the surface but could quickly tell we were not the priority this evening. Our table had not been set like the others in the dining room . Our waitress didn’t visit our table although she passed our table often to do things for other diners. When we did cash out to leave it felt like a relief and that isn’t how I like to spend my Saturday nights. The food was really good and so was my drink but it stops there. We spent a lot of money that evening and I don’t like spending my money places I’m not welcome. My overall experience was horrible and it overshadowed the food.

Wow, with all the good reviews I was not expecting bad sushi. Rice was very bland and pretty cold for being "fresh". Fish was fresh, and had a decent presentation, but just bland. I ordered simple rolls on purpose. Should not have to drown your sushi in goopy sauce to taste like something. Much better sushi at Fish Bones on Jefferson.

We sat out front on the patio. The service was quick. The chef special octopus was great. Enjoyed our sushi options as well.

Like most places in the Pointes (in my experience), this place is overrated. The pros - nice patio seating, good service (for me at least). The cons - very mediocre food.

Had a great dinner outside. The Southwest friendly in the atmosphere was great. The sushi was amazing as always.
