Boathouse Canton

I had an amazing time at the boathouse You can eat inside or outside. It’s self seating out on the deck . Also this place is pet and kid friendly. I went on a Friday night and they had a live band. Happy hr was reasonable for the area but a little high for my taste . The crab cake was great. Really meaty!!. The atmosphere was light and friendly.

We ate here on Mother's Day and it was a fabulous experience. The customer service from the moment we walked in, to taking our orders and clearing the mess we made was fantastic! The food - we had the prime rib and the crab cake sandwich was phenomenal and cooked to order. It was a wonderful, delightful overall experience!

While I typically love boathouse, lately I have been disappointed. Some tables are only reserved for 5 people which one odd to me. We had 4 people and decided to sit in the outdoor section with the different menu. Service was very slow as our poor server has the entire section. Our sever did the best they could. The most disappointing was the food. Boathouse typically has the best food, but we were all disappointed. Looked slopped together and it was all wrong. I am only writing in hopes of improvement as we love going and want to continue to go.

Food is great, atmosphere is fun, dogs are allowed, but the service is terrible. Took twenty minutes to get drinks, food was brought out to us that was intended for other tables four different times, table next to us didn’t get one of their entrees until the first one was already done, and another table next to us didn’t get their food ordered for about forty minutes because our server was MIA. It was also 10:30 in the morning, and there were seven tables on the patio and the inside was pretty empty. PLEASE PUT MORE PEOPLE ON THE FLOOR FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH. The servers you have cannot handle the tables they have been assigned. My girlfriend and I are both servers, and we were not the only ones very displeased with this trip to Boathouse, which will probably be our last.

I have to say this restaurant has a view worth seeing. The food however had high points and low points. The fried green tomato salad amazing, the crab cakes were very good as well. However, the cheap frozen French fries really took away from the meal. I was surprised to see that any chef would allow cheap fries to be paired with dishes that have great integrity. Considering the cost, It's a maybe for my return. This place has potential for being great.
