The Outpost American Tavern

Great place with some nice atmosphere. The food is good - especially the fried chicken sandwich. A decent selection of beer, can't really comment on the wine. On weekends it can get crowded, and the only downside is that you might be packed in a little bit. Not really too much of a downside, though, since at least it's good for business.

We went here for Valentine's Day dinner and enjoyed it a lot. The portions are on the bigger side, especially the apps -- after two apps and two entrees, we had leftovers to take home (which rarely happens when I'm involved). You can tell that a lot of thought went into making the food -- very tasty and heavy (comfort food style). The bartenders also come up with an interesting mix of cocktails too. Service was very attentive and friendly. We had a great experience and will come back again if we are in the area.

Fun spot for dinner, drinks, but most importantly, DESSERT. I should have taken a picture but I couldn't stop myself from diving spoon-first into their sundae. Banana bread, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge(!), and peanut butter (!!) are topped with bruleed marshmallow(!!!).

Outpost is a great local bar with above average food. I have had their meat options before and been super pleased, huge portions and very well-done. Today I stuck with vegetarian options and it may have been some of the best tofu I have ever had. Good service, nice alcohol selection, and a rotating menu that always satisfies.

Visiting for late Sunday lunch. Good vibe. Immediate service with friendly welcome. Nachos tasty and abundant. Salads fresh and well prepared. Chicken sandwich great. Turkey sandwich even better. Great neighborhood restaurant and bar!!
