Where do I begin? Let's start with the lack of clear information on the website. One is led to believe that after applying online and making payment, you are granted an appointment in which you have to take your documents. Online, it makes you to purchase "courier services" for your documents. Then to top it off they have some exhorbitant prices for shipping of the visa. You would think I am purchasing a VIP section for an event. I really do not understand why. I ended up purchasing the $41 return label option. Mind you, this is going to New York, not even to the U.K. I get to the center and only do the biometrics and passport photograph. That's it. Asked the people how does this work and they mentioned that the applicant is responsible for sending the passport and documents. That was not mentioned on the website process. I now had to send my documents in the mail to them. I could have saved my $41 and spent far less on the return label. I've been to embassies, and I never been through a process like this. Hope I get my stuff.

Going to UK? Need a visa? DON'T GO! You are better off not travelling to UK than being harassed and duped of 100's of pounds by them.... We had the worst experience ever!!!!!!! Money making consulate with ZERO customer experience systems.... unreachable, inconsiderate, ill-managed, bad/no communication. SO CHEAP.... Made us wait an hour without meeting us - told us through security guard to wait or withdraw our application, this despite me being pregnant and us requesting special consideration for family trip even though we are not at fault at all!

No other Consulate holds on to your passport for this long. If you live in the states and need a visa to go to UK do yourself a favor, just wait for few years till you get a US passport. You are a worthless person if you need a visa and they will treat you like that. Zero communication, there is a poor guy at the reception/security who takes all the abuse and is the only one who can call upstairs where the UK gods and talk to them. If you want to apply for visa even though you read all these reviews here, make sure you will not need your passport for 2 months.

Non-communicative and the worst visa experience ever. It's like a money-extortion scheme. Do not expect any help from the helpline since they have generic and often incorrect information. Applied for my visa through regular service and no update or response in 12 working days. Requested in-person pickup of the visa but to no avail and ended up missing my flight. Simply told time and again that paying $400 for priority service is the way to go. Apply a month in advance to ensure you do not have the same issues as me.

Going through any hurdle during this process requires money. Contacting the Customer Service requires Money. Calling requires money. If you decide to withdraw your application, you'd get your passport back within 5-10 business days. A have a Shenghen visa and can't use it because this imbeciles are still with my passport. #NoService
