Building with Campbell Homes was not a good experience for us. Our neighbors have also approached us and shared bad experiences. We cannot recommend them.

I was treated so poorly when I went in to look at their houses... I awsnt dressed like a professional though I make money and am a software engineer. They treated me like scum as if I couldnt afford that house. That said once they ran my numbers with the mortgage company they started to treat me better. That said it tells me a lot about the ethics of a company. I decided to not buy their over priced homes. I suggest going elsewhere

Since we moved in, we've had a horrible experience with the warranty department. We were shocked to move in and see so many punch list items that needed to be corrected. Since mid May 2017 it has been non stop, phone calls, Emails, harassment from sub contractors to get our discrepancies fixed. A horrible experience that not only we have encountered, but our neighbors have experienced as well. I'm shocked from the price point and expectations I had to find that others are experiencing the same results. I love the sales team and office staff, but I'm very concerned for others that have to worry like us that their home is being quality checked during build in progress by the superintendents and later having to go through a lot of hassle during the final inspection and having to correct punch list items. With all home builds we expected to have a punch list of items to go through, but the experience with the warranty department of this company has been a nightmare... I've tried to be patient and not voice my concerns, but I see I need to voice my concerns as a paying customer expecting professional results and to help other consumers.

I signed on with Campbell Homes as an OSU sophomore heading into my junior year. A few weeks into the summer I made a last minuet decision to transfer colleges and move back home. I needed to cancel my lease with Campbell. I thought it would be a simple process: I would lose my deposit and sign out of the lease. However, the process I had to go through as a college student to get out of the lease was ridiculous. First off, the lease I had signed did not give direction on what would happen if someone needed to cancel their lease. It was very vague and left room for assumption. So, I called Campbells and they explained if I wanted out of the lease I would have to pay a $300 fee (not stated in the original lease), find a replacement, and my roommates had to sign me out of the lease. However, I did ,what many college students do, and I found my two roommates off the OSU roommate finder. I knew them well enough but we were not best friends. My roommates did not want to sign me out of the lease because I had to keep paying but the two of them got to live in the house with an empty room for their use. They were also very picky with the girl who I found to replace me. So basically, I was stuck paying for a place in I did not live in and was not even in the same state in. No where in the lease did it say anything about this trap, and the big flaw here is that my roommates could hold me to the lease as long as they liked. I was the one who finally had to put my foot down after countless phone calls to Campbell and say they can take my roommate or I'm done paying because I have done what they've asked. My roommates finally decided after that to go along with the girl, but if I had not put a stop to it Campbells would have held me to that house the entire year I was not living there. There also is now a $300 fee I must pay that again, was nowhere in the lease. I am very unimpressed with the way Campbell handles their renting. The most ridiculous part is that I am a college student renting a house for college. Big shock. They must get so many students who have last minuet changes to their plan and need to get out of their lease. If this is Campells process for dealing with that - a three month ordeal with me running around in circles - then I do not recommend any OSU student rent housing here. They have clearly shown me their priority is to get money of the students and that is all.
