Cecil County Department-Social Services

The employees here are very rude. I'm a single mother of 3. I work and provide for my children. Sometimes, as all people, I hit a rough patch. The only assitance I receive is food stamps. They cut my benefits to $60 a month because of the overtime I worked before Christmas to provide my 3 children a great holiday. Well after Christmas my pay went back to normal, and I turned my new paystubs in. This was 3 months ago and they have yet to raise my stamps. With a 1300 rent (because I refuse to raise my kids in the ghetto) plus bills, it's been hard just to feed my kids. Yet they help junkies with money and stamps (that they sell for drugs) without asking questions. Those of us who actually struggle to provide, they act like its breaking their legs to do something.....

The person answering for customer service is very snobby and unpleasant. The people that work here ack as if they don’t want to help you and look down on you. I recently switched to the Middletown, De office and the people there are so nice. The have been helping me try to get back on my feet and don’t make me feel as though I’m beneath them because I’m asking for help. Middletown Socail Service is a lot more professional too

you would figure an office with the premise of helping people should have workers within that are happy to help , this office is full however is full of Condescending attitudes and people who look down on the unfortunate, I think I great many of the staff needs to change their occupation to a job with a more limited roll of working with people ...maybe a factory job!
