Expect to wait even on a weekday, but the blueberry pancakes literally melt in your mouth. So good. Girl next to me left half of hers untouched, and I wanted to pounce on her for how sacrilege it was to leave such good food behind.
The fried chicken was also some of the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, wonderfully seasoned, moist, and a generous amount given the price. I ordered it as a side, so it may be different in the dishes.

This place feels like a classic diner combined with a classy bistro. I came on a recommendation from a friend, with no other expectations. I ordered what I love: dessert. Apple Crumb was the pie of the day, so that's what I got. Absolutely delicious. Slightly warm. The staff wear shirts that say, "Made with Love and Butter." You can feel the love, and taste the butter. Phenomenal.
In terms of service experience, it was a bit rough around the edges. The host was on her phone the whole time, and allowed me to walk right by and wander awkwardly around before a server asked if he could help me. After mentioning I'd never been before and I was checking out the place, he didn't offer me any suggestions or a menu or even a place to sit. So that flow could use some work, but I'm still pleased with my visit.
In terms of comfort, the seats at the bar aren't the most ergonomic or comfortable, but when I tried one of the green seats around the edge of the restaurant, they were comfy as can be. I didn't want to get up! Bathroom is basic and doesn't require a key, although they might give you pushback if you aren't a customer.
Enjoy!

Went to the Clinton Baking Company for dinner. This place's dinner lives up to the legendary brunch that folks line up for early in the morning. Our waitress was pretty cool. The food was taking some time to come out, so they offered a complimentary plate of sugar bacon. The fried chicken dinner is delicious - I would recommend that. I ordered a platter with a side of grits. The grits were creamy and done well. For a dessert, I tried the cherry pound cake, which was excellent (much better the next day as well - it's a pretty healthy piece). In all the service was excellent, the food was great and the atmosphere is very laid back.

Though it's a long wait and they only accept cash, the food is creative and delicious. I ordered the caramelized banana brioche French toast, someone else ordered the lobster eggs Benedict with vegetables and others ordered the omelet special as well as sweet bacon. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious, including the house made jam. The service was also excellent! I would definitely go back on my next trip to NYC!

My husband and I came here for breakfast, just before rush hour (which started at around 10). The service was really great and the staff were friendly. We split the Salmon Eggs Benedict & Chocolate Chunk Pancakes. Both so so delicious, but we couldn't finish it cause the portions are massive. We're tourists you see, so we forget American portions are so gluttonously large. This place is a little expensive. We spent about $50 for 2 meals and 2 drinks. But honestly, it was well worth it. I'm gonna go lie down now. I'm so full.
