Well maintained trails for awesome hiiking and camping experience. We trekked along Hickory Creek and the weather ( late March) was perfect.

One of our go to get away in the mountains. Great dirt roads well maintain. Lots of clean water and most of the people you meet are nice and happy to be out in the woods.

This is a great park. It has nice and long trails, many rivers and a few waterfalls. Also you can swim in certain places. However, the first 11 miles we drove to reach the trail we hiked were not only unpaved, but also made me nauseous. It should better stay this way to keep it clean and sustainable, but this is just a warning.

Did a "simple" out and back hike in the Cohutta Wilderness a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I've been to National forests and parks all over the South/Southeast, and the Cohutta is truly a gem. Amazing unspoiled wilderness. This is the real deal.
