Jacks river falls is the best waterfall in the region! Nice swimming hole about 10 ft deep at the 15 ft cliff you can leap from, if you're brave. 30 ft deep pool beneath the first waterfall. About a 5 mile hike in any way you go. Beech bottom trail is the shortest hike but longest drive. About 3.5 mile hike but a 30 min longer drive. I recommend the Rice camp trail. 5 mile hike is rewarding. I always feel amazing when i make it back to the truck. You have to earn this adventure! Jacks river falls is amazing.

Plan the trip before proceeding. This is a wonderful trail for medium experience hikers and a nice challenge for those new to hiking. My son and I spent the day going up river to get to the falls and enjoy each second of it. The 22 river crossings provided a nice challenge and a chance to cool off from the July heat. We were able to find plenty of places for an eleven year old to cross without too much effort. We made the trip to the falls in about 4 hours. The falls were great and we had them mostly to our selves. I will say come prepared to get wet, prepared to stay over night, and for emergency situations. Will be back!

Nice, long quiet hike. Beautiful area. Camping is not allowed because it was trashed by fools in the past. Worth the hike.

Awesome trail, but very difficult. The trail takes you across the river 23 times to get to the falls. We didn't see too many people on the trail, but saw several snakes. This for sure in my top 3 of my favorite trails.
