Well that's a pretty typical Georgia shelter with all the amenities, and lack of amenities, that the shelter share including available water, pet bathroom, tent sites, and mice that will come and visit you at night.

This is a great part of the AT to day hike. Beautiful views and the him is not so intense beginners will enjoy the hike

Heading north towards Suches, turn right on the AT. Hike a mile or so up to a great lookout spot.

Always a beautiful view to see. It's a 1.5 mile pet friendly trail up to preacher's rock. Of course you can keep going up to steeper, prettier views.

Beautiful pass through the mountains. Drive carefully. The roads have a lot of very sharp curves. Take it slow and enjoy the views. Take a little time to walk part of the Appalachian Trail. Talk with other hikers, particularly the "Thru Hikers" who started in Maine and are nearing the end of their 4 to 6 month 2200 mile hike. Great eastern view from an exposed bit of rock is you walk about a mile to the north. Same thing to the south, but it is more like 2 miles, but fairly flat trail to the south and only a little steep climb near the view to the north.
