We camped over Earth Day weekend and attended a continuing education conference at the lodge. The campsite was great! Everything was very clean and the bathrooms and parking lot were very close. We had some noisy neighbors the first night we camped and the shower was kind of broken (there's only one!) but overall, we loved it! They had some local musicians play banjos and guitars Saturday night, which was fun! The dogs were welcome all over the park (leashed, of course). The lady at check in was very nice and helpful. The conference at the lodge was nice too! We'll definitely be back!

Very nice campground. Well laid out and kept. Sites tucked up in beautiful old growth forest. "30 foot site" was snug front to back with 26' camper and f150 (perpendicular), but doable. Dog friendly. A lot to do in the area (tubing, zip line, hiking, waterfalls, Helen). Lord willing will return here. *Photo site #35

We did not stay in the lodge this year. Our past experiences have been very positive. The rooms are clean. The employees are all very polite and courteous. The prices are almost always way more than you would pay for a comparable room at any chain, but at least the money helps the National Forest. Besides, you can't beat the fantastic scenery of the mountains.

Great place to stay. Very affordable and just out side of the busy main st and attractions in town. Really liked the new tavern which has a good menu with good prices. They severe beer wine and mixed drinks. The restaurant has a full menu and a buffet breakfast lunch and dinner. They have 2 fireplaces with seating to relax. And some fire pits outside with sitting. They Also have a zip line and some other adventure things to do. Lots to do or lots of places to relax in quit settings. Great views of the mountains. Good place for family vacation. Or couples get away.

Georgia has a wide variety of state parks and I have found most of them to be clean and well maintained. Unicoi is very near Helen, situated in the North Georgia mountains. We stayed at the lodge. Not spectacular, but clean and comfortable. Beautiful views and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy it from. One complaint. Keyless room entry that got screwed up if you put your key near your cell phone, car key fob or credit cards. Good luck avoiding them all. Had to get my keys reset twice! It is a good home base to enjoy Helen, local wineries and hiking.
