This was the first time we have visited and we will be coming back to camp. Have always been impressed with Georgia State Park campgrounds, but this place was gorgeous! Park staff and camp hosts obviously take a great amount of pride in this place. There are cabins, camping, a couple stores/information centers, a 17 acre lake, and hiking trails. And the vistas are stunning. Will love coming again when we aren't covered up by rain and clouds, but was still beautiful.

This was an overnight spot as we were traveling north. We were hauling our travel trailer and the drive up was STEEP! Not only is the road steep but it is narrow and winding - just be warned. We made it no problem but it was a shock for us used to boring roads. It happened to be off season so the rustic store was not open. The main park store was open and the girls inside were great! The views were amazing, the campsites were good but again VERY steep. We were a bit afraid on making the little circle at the campground. This place is not really for large RV's.

Don't miss this place! Totally worth going to. Parking is $5, which I didn't have on hand, but thankfully you can pay at the visitors center. There's several different hikes you can take. They're pretty easy too. We went with two kids. If they're small enough, you can totally wear them and have a great hike. Or they can walk and you can carry/wear them if they get tired. To go to the falls there are stairs, not a lot, totally doable. You could even pack a lunch and have a snack. However, there are plenty of picnic tables at your disposal for eating at.

Nice views and several overlooks. Drove up to see the cottages/cabins you can stay in. They looked very nice, were spread out enough and had great views. If you were to stay in one, ask for the ones where the back side faced 441/city.

The rangers at the welcome center are always helpful and very friendly. The trails are well maintained and it's a beautiful park. The campground is awesome and quiet with clean restrooms.
