Great park. Lots of options and trails for all types of athletic levels. My mom has a bad knee and there is a lovely waterfall 50/100 yards from the parking lot. She was able to easily walk the small trail and back. My son was stung (by a wasp we think?) And the park rangers had a sting wipe for it. Which was so nice especially since we were traveling and had nothing to help a sting with us. The cost was $5 per car and totally worth it. If you love the outdoors you will love this park. (They didn't have a large selection of trail snacks but they did have a few things..jerky, chips, Gatorade, water, etc). The store inside had all sorts of trinkets that hikers would like as well as Christmas ornaments, magnets, scarfs, jewelry, and other things that are inspired by the area. The falls are beautiful and there are a variety of nice photo opportunities.

Amazing experience. Best view of the falls from the bridge. A go to place nearby atlanta. It was raining when we visited there...hence, the trek went to b smooth and nice. It took us around 3-3.5 hours to cover all the points. However, if you want to directly go to the bridge (Hurricane falls), you can directly go there..around 650 steps to be walked down and then up 😃. But worth going.
Don’t forget to grab an ice cream 🍦 after the trek from the visitor centre shop!

Great views! Everything but the stairs was easy to walk. Going down the stairs was the easy part. Also have a place to sit on the way up/down the stairs, trust me youll need a break. I don't usually hike and I made it. Very nice and well maintain walking trails.

This is a must see if you are if the North Georgia mountains. The trails to view the falls are in good shape and well maintained but they have an enormous amount of stairs, plan to take some brakes to get your breath back. There is a trail on both rims leading down the gorge to the falls. They are connected by a suspension bridge that goes over the gorge. After the hike, we across the street to some picnic tables overlooking Tallulah River and had lunch. It was very peaceful. We were there in February and it was not crowded at all. There is a beach, but it is small and uninviting. It was closed for the winter. I think I would skip the beach and make the long hike to a place called sliding rock where you can get in the river and slide over the rocks for what looks like a 10-15 foot gradual drop. But if you are not an avid water enthusiast, you might best skid this for a more pleasant water adventure. There is a welcome center that has a nice wildlife interpretive center that is free to view. It is worth the 15-30 minutes of time it will take to view it. There is also a 15 minute film that can be viewed at the top and bottom of every hour. You can see it all in a day, but it would take two days to casually walk on all the trails.

This is a great state park with some really good hiking not too far away from Atlanta.
The first time we went, we stayed in a cute cabin near by and unfortunately, it was really foggy, so the views weren't as good. We came back for a day trip from Greenville this year and had great weather!
Both times we did the Hurricane Falls Loop which is really awesome. There are a ton of stairs to get down and a suspension bridge to cross. You get to see two different falls on this trail. The first is before you get to the stairs and the second is at the bottom of all the stairs. After seeing the falls, you can walk back on the other side of the gorge for some more pretty views.
I also recommend driving up to the scenic viewpoint. The view from above the gorge up there is amazing. There are great colors in the fall too.
I definitely recommend coming here for some good hiking and great views!
