Delaware Canal State Park

This is a nice park but the low class visitors tend to spoil it.

This path is one of the treasures of Eastern Pennsylvania. In a few months my son and I will have completed the entire length of the trail from Mountain Top to Bristol via cycling. It is well suited for cycling and hiking. Some stretches have benches or tables for rest stops. There are many towns along the way to obtain snacks, water or lodging. I am not sure if overnight camping is permitted along the trail but there do not seem to be many available sites for camping. They surface condition varies greatly depending upon the location. The rail trail parts seem to be in better condition than the canal path sections. The canal path sections along the Delaware can be pretty narrow and rough, but the views can be worth the bumpy ride. Also in summer, a lot of the trail is in the shade so that even in 80 degree days you ride or hike in the shade.
