Derek's Towing & Recovery

I set up a tow through Pep Boys and was told they should be there in a hr. I waited the Hr. and called the tow provider directly . Explained to the person answering the phone that Pep Boys set up tow and asked him if he knew when the driver would arrive. He proceeded to say 2 Hrs. I said but I was told an 1hr. He said listen the F*%cking drivers didn't show and I can't get no sleep , because the phone keeps ringing. Are you kidding me this how you speak to customers. There no way a reputable store like Pep Boys should be affiliated with them in any way. DEREK"S TOWING IS A JOKE and the person who answered my call today should not be employed anywhere. 5/26/2018

First off let me say that Chris, the initial tow driver I spoke with was very laid back, polite, funny, and overall professional all in one. If I could rate him as an employee I'd give him 5 stars. However, the company itself is lacking. My car broke down and I contacted roadside assistance who sent Chris to help. He arrived in 50 minutes, 10 minuted before the scheduled ETA. My manual transmission car was stuck in 1st gear. It could not be put on a flatbead. Chris had to call for a wrecker to finish the job. He offered to hold onto my keys and give it to the wrecker driver so I wouldn't have to wait in the rain for an hour and a half for the wrecker to get there. The wrecker would then take my car to a dealership to get serviced. Very nice of you, Chris. So I got in a family members car who had come out to help and went home. I went to the dealership the next day just to be sure my car was there, and my car wasn't there. Nowhere to be found. I freaked out. I called the towing company's phone number (listed on their website) and I was sent to voicemail after 45 seconds of ringing. Very unprofessional. I called Chris (I had his number since his GPS sent him to the wrong location the night before and he had called me on his cell to get my location) and he picked up almost immediately. He explained that the car hadn't even been picked up since the wrecker driver FORGOT ABOUT IT!! Chris said he was really disappointed to hear about the forgetfulness of the wrecker driver, and that he was on his way with his wrecker to retrieve my car. This was my first time getting a car towed, and I was pleased with Chris, but I was disgusted with the company's performance. I'd hate to say it since Chris did such a good job on his part, but I would highly reccomend seeking other towing companies if you want your car taken care of properly and not forgot about on the side of the road.

My insurance company sent them for a lockout call. Expected arrival was within an hour. An hour and 15 minutes later, when they still had not arrived, the insurance company attempted again to send them, expected arrival within 24 minutes. 45 minutes later, they still did not arrive, and the insurance company cannot contact them. As I write this review, I have been waiting over 2 hours, and have requested that the insurance company send someone else, who might actually show up. Now, 2 hours and 10 minutes of waiting, a driver shows up. I informed him that my insurance company dispatched someone else because of the long delay and inability to contact Derrek's. The driver got back into his truck, ran into the neighbor's trash bin, and drove off.

If I could give a minus 100, I would..The owner and the shop are shady as hell..They had my son's car for 6 months, we finally had it towed to another shop, after they lied and told me that particular shop was closed.The new shop informed me that pretty much all of the work that was done was wrong, wires were just hanging not connected to anything, turbo wasn't bolted, I have a several page list of items, (with pictures) of things that were wrong..I asked several times for the owners number, or at least for my name and number to be passed on for him to call me..Never heard from him. We asked for ALL of the old parts, and they didn't return everything..The shop was broken into and all the keys were "supposedly" stolen.. We requested for the locks to be rekeyed, which they never did. We were repeatedly lied to..One of the drivers told me they should have never worked on my son's car, as they were too inexperienced..The list goes on..

This company brought out a wrecker that could not complete the tow. Then had me waiting on the highway for and hour for what they said would be 15 mins to get a flat bed. Then when I called them after not showing up, they wanted me to reschedule the tow. Very unprofessional.
