This is truly a place to sit, wonder, and be in awe. I started this journey with a heavy heart and felt my spirits lifted with the warm breeze that drifted through this holy place. We bought a candle from the gift shop to light in the church for our loved ones who couldn't make it. I was humbled by the many stories, the crosses people carried for themselves and their loved ones, and the journey so many took from all around the world and from many walks of faith to get here. Though I'm sure he is very busy, the kind priest greeted fellow visitors who stopped by his office. He left his office door open and waved at folks who walked by. I wish I would have been able to thank him for welcoming so many of us to this lovely place. This was one of the most meaningful trips I've ever taken! :)

Beautiful Historic Church with a massive pilgrimage every Easter that walks here from miles around. The peaceful church grounds are dotted with artists painting various structures, doors and gardens. It’s almost like an amusement park for Catholics. There are vendors selling jewelry, soap and Chile powder (get the red Chile). Peaceful grounds by the river, take your time and be respectful.

A spiritual experience, set in a unique and beautiful New Mexico landscape. This place is rich in history and has an almost overwhelming energy, regardless of your faith and/or beliefs. The place is set up like a campus, with each building having its it's own unique story, purpose and style. Walk around, buy some fresh spices and enjoy the views, but most importantly, take in the beauty of what this place is all about.

This place was phenomenal. It was a beautiful place that communicated serenity. Mass was about 30 min long starting at 11am, but I would be cautious about entering late as the priest stopped the mass to acknowledge the late entry. The grounds are well kept and set against a mountainous background. When we were there, flowers and cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I took my young boys and they enjoyed the history and spirtuality of the site even at their young age. I highly recommend this place! Please visit!

Most holy of holy sites in New Mexico. The good Friday pilgrimage is something to experience. The Church itself is truly unique. The history of the location is deep and interesting. Must visit if your nearby. Worth the 30 minute detour. Easter weekend is probably the busiest weekend of the year. If your religious or not check it out.
