Front Street Café

Fun little cafe right on the banks of the Ohio river. Great outdoor seating and perfect for Sunday brunch when the weather is favorable. Had a Denver omelette and girlfriend had the eggs Benedict. Food was decent but service was excellent. Got here when it opened and food came out quick. Portions were generous.

Unassuming, charming, understated are all apt, as are comfortable, curated and upscale. Some restaurants who hype their wine selection try to have everything, but it's done properly here. You'll find a diverse collection of vintages, style and country of origin. Entrees include some vegetarian options, and after 3 visits I feel confident saying all are delightful. Easy to feel comfortably overwhelmed with finery walking into what appears at first to be a dive; meals thoughtfully prepared truly exceed the menu description delivered surprisingly quickly by a staff that seem to have been carefully selected to match the impressive fare. Only slightly more expensive than fast food, why aren't you headed there now?

Odd is the best discription. We arrived without a reservation, not knowing that it is apparently required. The first server to speak to us was obviously displeased by this. After some discussion they found a table for us and we were served by a delightful lady named Bunny. We watched as people came in with no reservation, and we're ignored. The offer of accomodations at the bar were not offered. Three couples were greeted, stated they had no reservations, and were told they would be right with them. All three ended up leaving. The food and band were great.

My boyfriend and I had lunch here for the first time today and the experience was excellent. It was a very relaxed environment and had a great view of the river. The staff was friendly and welcoming, I didn't feel rushed, and the food was enjoyable. The owner came out to greet us and gave us some great information about what was going on about town and was extremely understanding when my not so tiny rescue dog protectively barked when he had to lean over me to shake my boyfriend's hand after shaking my own. Carrie (sp?) and Hunter provided great service and were very attentive with wonderful demeanors. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch. Coffee and dessert were also superb. Service was excellent. Will be returning soon. Highly recommend this main street cafe with a view of the Ohio River.
