The Thurman Cafe

Just WOW! I went on a conference trip to Columbus with a few colleagues and we heard from locals that this was a great place to visit. We were not disappointed. As soon as you walk in Thurman Cafe is decorated with everything Ohio, license plates to Indians decor galore. This created a very home-like feel and attracts a respect for local culture. We were greeted promptly by our very kind and helpful waiter who was also patient with us as we decided what we were having. Our food was amazing - so delicious - and the serving sizes were obtuse. I have dreams about the burgers even now, a year later. Sending thanks from Utah, we can't wait to be back!

Had the Macedonian burger and it was amazing. Service was friendly and quick. Also I guess since I came early and on a Tuesday there was no wait at all neither to be seated nor for the food. Only thing is it was way too big - I ate until completely stuffed and still couldn't finish. They should offer half-burgers or something.

Unique and interesting place to eat. Burgers are absolutely huge compared to the prices. Burgers so large it takes some thought on how to fit a bit in your mouth with prices that wont break you. Our meals were big enough to eat part for lunch and the rest for dinner. Staff was very friendly and offered to make a special sauce for us for our fried pickle chips. That made us feel even more welcomed to be there. This place will definitely see us in the future as it easily became our favorite burger place.

This is a hole in the wall type of place with a shockingly good menu and very chill and casual atmosphere. Everything is huge... you've been warned. I had a basic cheeseburger and it was gigantic, but so SO good! This is one of my new favorite places and I'll be bringing people here for sure! (Was too hungry to take a picture but I'll add one next time)

Got sat and ordered pretty fast. The server we had was very unenthusiastic until he was at ANY other table. He stood and talked to other tables for a long period of time. Our food came. My boyfriend liked his but I barely touched mine. The wings weren’t anything special and the chili on my fries seemed to just be hamburger. The server never came to check on us or get refills. Anyone with eyes could tell that I didn’t like my meal, but no one ever asked how it was. We had to wait until a random server stopped to ask if we needed anything and wanted our check. We are usually very good tippers but I feel like we were prejudged because we are both young. Our server made sure to smile and talk forever with every other table. Im a server and I would never ignore a table like we were. We won’t be back.
