Golden Crest Nursing Center

My Aunt was at Golden Crest Nursing Centre in North Providence. I filed a complaint with the DOH that it took 4 hours for the staff to get her pain medication to her in her last days and what transpired her last two days at the nursing home. I received a call from Paul the owner of GCNC recently that I am not allowed on the property because of the complaint. The report is still under investigation per DOH as of 7/27/17.

My mother was in the Rehab section for two days and nights. The care was professional and attentive. The place was clean. The schedule was amenable. Mom had a issue with dementia and tried to leave the building during the second night of her stay. Unbeknownst to the family, mom was moved to the 'memory care unit' in the middle of the night. The 'memory care unit' was haphazard, trash cans overflowing, dirty rubber gloves on the floor in the bathroom, patients wandering around moaning ...some of them removing their clothing and wandering into my mother's room. Mother's clothing was hung sloppily in a closet with no label and other peoples clothing were mixed in with hers. Her personal items, pictures, brushes, lotions, sox, had been tossed carelessly into a draw. It was 11 am and she was still in bed, unwashed and in her pajamas. The woman in the shared room with her was hanging off her low bed with her diaper half off and moaning. The staff seemed lackadaisical at best. I immediately contacted mom's MD and the family removed her from this understaffed, poorly managed section of the facility.
