I have been employed by Heritage Hills for almost 39 years. I have also had numerous family and friends as residents there. The staff is a group of loving, caring individuals who do their very best every day. They care for your family members because you are unable to do so, and so, they are made part of the Heritage family. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they are there, meeting not only medical needs, but emotional needs and social preferences. Stop in sometime and ask for a tour. See for yourself. This year, we have achieved a Deficiency-free survey and we have won the Bronze Award for our commitment to quality. I am proud to be employed by this facility and to have the privilege of working side-by-side with these wonderful individuals. Whether it is for short term rehab, hospice care, or long term, choose Heritage Hills. We care.

When I had worked here a few months ago, It's not the worst place I've worked at or had ever saw, but it certainly was far from best. The housekeeping department is so beyond lazy and unorganized. I was harassed constantly by other employees, who most had no clue what they were doing nor had any common sense. I'd get told to do ridiculous things that were absolutely unsanitary, many of the housekeepers and floor washers did unsanitary methods of cleaning and lack of disinfecting. I swear at that time I was the only person in the building to ever clean any bathroom floors which I did daily or as much as possible. Heck, I even washed more floors some days than the own friggin floor washers. Other employees constantly kept bossing me around and the one time I suggested something to someone about a better, easier way of doing something..not to mention a sanitary, CLEAN way that should be how it's done.. I get screamed at throughout the halls for an hour and tell my boss about the situation and tell him i'm quiting and nor did he ask about what happened or assess the situation at all nor or do anything to really maintain the department at all except worrying over little irrelevant things as do almost everybody else in that building. The CNA's are some of the worst ever had I seen. Though the working conditions are actually pretty good in this nursing home compared to others, theres clearly enough staff and not enough getting done.. more got done where I had worked before where the nursing staff were always extremely understaffed than had gotten done here where hardly ever there weren't enough people to get the jobs done. The CNA's at this facility don't like nor do their jobs, the nurses and staff are cold to the residents, hardly ever interacting with them and leaving almost all of them in bed all day long and doing the very limited basic needs for them but nothing else what so ever even as simple as saying hello or acknowledging them in any way. It was very sad, residents would be in bed for months straight without anyone offering them anything or encouraging them to do anything, not even simply putting the tv on or music or lights or anything.. I probably talked more to many of them in the three months was there than they'd get in a years worth of time. a lot of them sat in complete silence and darkness all day. Activities would neglect most of the residents, especially ones with dementia and only would take the most alert, humble people to activities, excluding many others who would enjoy and benefit greatly from them. I've witnessed not only emotional abuse and neglect, but physical abuse as well two or three times in just the 3 months I had worked there. I just could not take it anymore so one day I quit. The facility treats the employees way more than good, but almost all of them hardly actually work and are unappreciative as well as lack any interest in their jobs or want to be there. On the other hand, as far as the residents go, they are neglected on many levels. They have no alzheimers unit, nor do anything for dementia patients, they have very limited things to do or offer the residents at the facility and it's very far from a home like setting. I seriously would not recommend anyone to bring their relatives here unless it's for rehab or short term care. I mean, I was depressed just working there and seeing how sad and lonely the residents were and i mean, that's pretty common at old age but every single person here was to the extreme of it mostly because of the atmosphere. i wouldn't want to be ignored all day long in a dark room with nothing to do.. come on. It is very far from a homey feeling or family feeling for the residents who are there, a lot of discrimination in several ways and not the best environment for many people i'd say.
