Such a cute little lake! Its very clean and pet friendly. I remember going there as a kid and now I'm starting to take my own kid. Its also a good place to spend mothers day or fathers day. Very family oriented!

This is such a special little lake. I took my family here for a hike and picnic and between the great view, beautiful hike and great amenities, this will be a spot we will visit time and again. The hike is fairly easy as well which is great for little kids.

Loved it. I had no idea all these years that it was so close. 15 mins from downtown. We were at the area that had the playground and boat rentals. It is awesome. VERY easy to get to, easy readable direction signs close to the entrance and no off road vehicle required. Good sized parking lot. $3.00 parking fee is what the sign said (I'd bring cash) but since it was a school field trip it was covered with the school fee. Right when you pull in there are nice restrooms, soda vending machine, playground, volleyball net, covered pavilion and boat rental area. The water is damed in. Several areas all around the lake that actually have benches to rest and benches in fishing area. The water is very clear which made watching crawfish and fish even more exciting for all kiddos. Several fishermen had caught decent sized fish (I'm sure the kids in the bridge making noise and trying to skip rocks didn't help lol). I loved how open and cleverly spaced out everything was. We could see a little bit of a much bigger clubhouse area on the other side. We were at the first entrance area. All kinds of trails and most are really smooth for easy access without feeling like hiking up a hill. Great for a beginner or easy hiker. When going down in the area by the big tree that had fallen and is halfway in the water the kids did spot a Garter snake so keep that in mind. It's a wonderful place to camp or spend the day. There is plenty cell service. One thing I thought needed attention is the fishing line recycling container near the dock. It needs to be emptied before school field trips arrive. MANY children were reaching in trying to get line and hooks to make "fishing poles." Huge safety concern.

My favorite place; it's beautiful. Plus canoeing is pretty fun.
