Lake Pleasant

Nice lake to spend some time relaxing or fishing. Took the family and set up for a nice picnic. Will be back to do some fishing soon.

Nice relaxing place to chill for the day.. nice place to take the dog swimming, too! People, please take your trash with you when you leave though.. I spent the first twenty minutes cleaning up cigarette butts and bottle caps at our spot.

Last time I was here, there was a monsoon storm with an amazing lightning show. Being a photographer, I took the opportunity to set the camera and got some of the most beautiful lightning over water shots to date.

We wanted to see cactus and enjoy a hike in the desert. We found Pipeline Canyon Trail in the Lake Pleasant Park. The hike is a little less than 4 miles round trip. Bring lots of water, if it's hot out. There are a few ups and downs, but overall not a difficult hike. Beautiful varieties of cactus with a pretty view of the lake at the top.

Impressed! Beautiful lake, clean roads, Clean bathroom facilities, clean around the lake with the exception of the occasional trash that, if you were kind enough-could easily be picked up. Camping ground locations are beautiful & spacious, very well kept. All in all, worth a vacation or even a day trip for sure! Enjoy!
