A great place to rent tools. Working on my house and visited a couple of times.

They'll take a reservation for equipment but don't expect them to have what you reserved when you arrive. Arrived to pick up the equipment I had reserved 8 minutes after they opened and they had already rented it to someone else. Real nice.

Halk is horrible. Don't bother going there. Their equipment is old, welded together from years of use and abuse, very poorly maintained and well beyond its service life. Latches are loose and threads are stripped. They send you out with worn and leaky tires. They do not check any safety equipment with you before you leave; just hook up and go. They might check the lights and that's it. Tire pressure? What's that? Tires worn - Oh, that's still ok, don't worry about it. The real bad one we'll change, but that's it. The other one is ok. Then if stuff breaks and tires go flat, it's your fault. Electric brakes don't work, must be your truck that is the problem. Give me a break. The people at Halk look like they have never before smiled in their lives. Gotta be the sourest faces I have ever seen. You are much better off going to All Star Rents in Placerville. Good, well maintained equipment and service with a smile. Night and day difference. Nothing welded, no stripped threads, new, well maintained equipment AND LOWER PRICES. They check tire pressures and go over safety equipment with you before you leave. Tires are not worn to almost slicks. Halk? - never again.

I just had the worst experience with Halk. I had rented a trailer on Thursday to go camping on Friday. I was at the establishment over 45 min making sure to reserve the correct trailer and finding out what type of hitch I needed to buy. I then purchased the hitch and the ball, and got everything packed for going camping and went to pick up the trailer I had reserved. The owner refused to rent the trailer to me because she said I was going out of their 100 mile limit! She said her employees did not know they weren't supposed to rent it to me! My kids and I are heart-broken. We had this trip planned and were ready to go. Now it's too late on Friday to find another trailer. I cannot recommend this business to anyone.
