HighRoad Hostel & Suites Washington DC

An old Victorian style house converted into a hostel. The rooms are very neat and clean. Friendly staff. Great location. Have some good restaurants and bars around. The place is always bustling with people. 20 minute bus ride to The National Mall.

I've stayed in 25-30 hostels, and this was #1. Great amenities, great location, great vibe, great staff, great price. It's more like a 4 star hotel for $25 a night. Such an awesome vibe which is really hit and miss with hostels but makes a big difference. Met some great people here from all over the world. I can't wait to visit again.

Excellent option if you don't want to spend a lot on a hotel. Amenities include complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste), free lock for your locker, earplugs and towels. I was impressed with the cleanliness of my room and the shared bathroom. The common areas are cozy with ample seating and the kitchen is modern and spacious. The location is a bit far afield for those interested in the main tourist attractions but there are several convenient bus stops just steps away to get you where you need to go or you can walk to the Metro. I stayed over the weekend and found the neighborhood to be quite active but the vibe inside the hostel was always calm and quiet.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. The rooms are pretty are very nice and the beds are super comfortable. But the coolest part of the hostel are the common areas, there's three large areas and you always find people hanging out there. The location is also really good, quite a few nice bars and restaurants are located within a block.

The convenience of having a late night check-in can't be stressed enough. The attendant was warm and welcoming despite my last minute, late arrival. A nice location near great restauraunts and bars, too. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms spacious. A great kitchen area for cooking your own meals and having conversations with other travellers. Also, other clientele, seemed friendly and approachable. Only wished there were restrooms located on the sub-level. Otherwise, restrooms were private, and roomy enough to bring personal belongings in to prepare for the day.
