Really lovely staff. Excellent food. Nice comfortable rooms and clean facilities. If you're attending events in Kalamazoo, this is a good spot near the venue and highway (little to no noise from the highway). Medievalists take note: many ICMS people stay here. Good chance you will have a discussion about the Middle Ages with the wait staff in the restaurant...

Hotel is undergoing a remodel at my time of visit. This didn't impede on my stay one bit. Food at the restaurant was good which was typical bar food. The pool and hot tub looked fun but was overrun by kids in town for a soccer tournament. The rooms were spacious and clean. The onsite parking feels safe and quiet for the car to rest. I really enjoyed the stay here versus staying downtown Kalamazoo.

We had a really great experience here. The newly renovated rooms are so nice and very clean. We traveled with our two dogs and our 5 month old puppy caused some damage and they worked with us better than we could’ve hoped. The staff was very accommodating and the restaurant on site was great. We had 4 people at dinner who all ordered different items and we were all more than pleased with our meal. We stayed on the third floor where half was undergoing renovation and we didn’t even notice it. It’s worth a stay for the price and the new rooms!

Pros- friendly staff, comfy beds, good food Cons- why would you schedule a conference at the same time that major renovations are taking place? Drilling, sawing, hammering have been constant during sessions and it’s highly distracting. I understand that the hotel needs to be renovated. However I think it’s poor business to book something that would be bothered by the work going on. Would it have been so bad to pause the construction for a day and a half? Please serve your paying guests better. Also, both mornings there was only one poor person working during breakfast. There are many people here just for a conference so it would have been much more efficient and less pressure on the staff to have more than one server working. Lighting in our room is very poor. The one light in the bathroom comes from the mirror which has some sort of backlight in it, not even a full light. Half the outlets in the room don’t work either. I would have given two stars but gun fire-volume hammering started as soon as I started writing this review.

Staff was very friendly. Even with renovations occurring, hotel was clean and quiet. My kids loved the small arcade. My daughter won 8 ducks! Pool was good temp. Breakfast buffet was very good.
