I was a KU customer from 2008 to 2015 when I moved to Richmond, I have moved back and started service again 6/15/17. In that time I don't know what happen to KU but it must be in dire straits. It has become apparent that KU has become a vampire company set to suck the life out of its customers. I am so disgusted with KU right now I could puke!! In seven years as a customer before I was never late with a payment. Always early!! I didn't even raise a fuss when KU incorrectly numbered the meters at the duplexes I was living at and for over 7 months I paid my neighbors' bill and they paid mine. KU did man up and accept responsibility for the mistake and I was given a large credit on my bill. Now since I have moved back, I had gotten my bill for June, but not July. I did get a rebate check for a washer I had purchased as well, so I know that KU has my correct address. Supposedly the July bill was mailed on 8/1/17. I never got it, didn't get an email stating the bill was mailed or late. I did get a disconnection notice in the mail on 8/28/2017. So my wife called and spoke with someone named Brandon and titled himself as a supervisor, however his actions were not as such!! Rude is putting it lightly. He stated that KU would not waive the late fee because it was not KU's fault. Well sir nor is it mine!! Will KU credit me for the $80 of food that I lost in my freezer when the power went out in July due to a "Mechanical malfunction" according to KU's website for over 6 hours!!!??? No, they wont. That is their fault and not the fault of the customer, but yet the customer is left footing the bill. All the fees that customers pay to assist those on government assistance and those who don't pay their bill, those who are too lazy to work, yet the hard working people that actually pay what they owe are the ones who get the shaft!! If I could choose another electric service, I would in a heartbeat, but yet again KU has us by the throat and the noose just gets tighter and tighter. Shame on you KU. Shame on you!!! I have paid my bill this morning with the $4.$$ late fee that you refused to waive. I hope you put that $4.$$ to good use!! Such as some better training for your so called Managers/supervisors.... LOL what a joke!! Or maybe start a rate reform that has your customers in mind instead of lining your pockets with cash!!!
