Great place to camp if you: A) enjoy camping in a site at about the same slope as a boat ramp B) enjoy using a pull through site more than twice as long as your trailer that, due to trees, cannot be pulled out of, making it a pull in / back out site. C) enjoy roads so narrow that anything bigger than a pop-up can't possibly stay on. I was there and fought with my trailer for 3 hours trying to somehow level it from front to back. Due to the slope (see A above), this proved to be an impossible exercise in futility. Ended up leaving, which meant a 7 hour drive that was starting at 4 pm after barely being able to even get out of the campground. Maybe the lake is nice. I wouldn't know as I never had a chance to see it. I will NEVER return to this place again!

This is a large State park with a lot of camping (we saw over 180 numbers and the sites just seemed to stretch on and on). We camped in a yurt during the off season which was fantastic as it provided us heat but still gave my family the camping experience and we felt likke we were practically the only ones there! With the new cabin for canines programs the state parks also make it extremely easy and convenient to bring your dog(s). Located directly across from the playground, my kids were able to run back and forth and have plenty to do throughout the weekend. My only con was that we experienced a tornado warning our first night and there is absolutely no where safe to go close by for campers so in an emergency situation be sure you are prepared to drive 20 min into town and know where you will go.

Stayed in pet friendly Outpost Cabin. Had unseasonably COLD weather for April, but stayed toastie warm with wood burning stove and watch dvd's on portable DVD player at night. Cozy... Keep in mind you have to wheel or carry (up and down hills) all your stuff from parking area so plan accordingly. Very inexpensive with great individual shower facilities. Would recommend and return.

Beautiful, quiet park. Loved watching the bald eagles over the lake in the mornings. Big sites. Clean bathrooms and showers.
