Melba's

Food was excellent and at a good portion size. The space is cozy and can fit large groups if needed with ease. My only complaint is that service is a bit slower than most places when you first sit, had to wait a bit to simply get water and two cups of coffee. Once the orders for food we're though, it came out fresh, fast, and hot. I highly recommend the sweet potato pancakes, even though I I wish they were larger. I'll be going back for sure.

We were so excited to visit Melba's for a graduation celebration and a 3:30 reservation. We even contacted them by email to confirm our big day.I preface my comment with the fact that we are a highly educated family from Maryland. The weather was terrible, but we were determined to take the trek from the Bronx to Melba's-all 14 of us! We called to let them know we were on our way and were told there was no reservation, despite the rude staff person saying our last name. He offered little understanding or interest in serving us. We told him that a female took the reservation, but he implied that we were lying. It was a belittling experience. We decided that Melba's could not offer the celebratory atmosphere we were seeking and chose instead to dine at the Row House. That was an awesome celebratory atmosphere with good food and music!

I chose Melba's to celebrate my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary. The staff was gracious, kind and attentive. They even held and bought out the cake for us, sang an original "anniversary" song and made the evening fun. The food was great. The drinks were excellent. It was a except optional evening and I truly thank all the staff for making this evening one to remember!

My sister got married here. The environment was amazing. The food was omg delicious. The service was phenomenal. Price wasn't even a thing. You can taste the love in the food. I can honestly say this is the best restaurant I have ever been. The food taste just like my grandmother's home cooking. This place is a must if your trying to get out with friends or a date with your love. Thanks Melba' s for the amazing experience.

The Food was Absolutely Delicious!!! Warm and Cozy Atmosphere!!! We had the Egg Nog Waffle, Fried Chicken and Catfish. Out of this world!!! Had the chance to meet Mrs. Melba (the Mastermind behind all this Delicious Food)!!! What a Beautiful Person!!! We enjoyed conversing with her. It was like hanging out with family. That's how she made us feel, Like Family!!! Thank you Mrs. Melba. If your in NYC , make your way Uptown (Harlem) and stop on by Melba's. You Will Not be disappointed!!!
