Mezzanine Cafe

I had not been to the cafe for about a year; but was looking for a quiet place to meet some friends from out of state for a relaxing lunch. The last time I was at the cafe, they had table service and the food was at least above average -- not great; bu not as bad as it was on this recent visit. I will never return to the cafe. Let's start with, it's a good idea (for them) that you pay for the food before it arrives. One of my guests was very, very specific about no onions on her sandwich. When we sat down she said, I don't think he understood. She was right-- her sandwich arrived with what looked like extra onion. That guest also complained about the stems bring on the spinach in the salad. I ordered, among other things, the mac and cheese. It was served COLD. It had no taste; same with the other items I ordered. The other of my guests asked if we could go somewhere else to eat as his food was tasteless. We stayed, talked for a while. No one came to take away the dirtly dishes. After about 20 minutes of hoping the person who kept walking past would take the plates, we stopped him and he grudgingly took the plates away. We left and went to get some GOOD food elsewhere!!! DREADFUL food! No service, you order at the cash register and get your own drinks, etc. I gave it one stae as one could only post if one awarded at least one star. We would have gotten better tasting food at the McDonald's just across the street. Mc Ds was not the kind of food we wanted--
