Mid-K Beauty Supply #1

Very, very large beauty supply store. Even bigger selection of wigs, both costume and regular. Not such a big selection of mundane beauty supply needs, nor a very helpful staff. I'd suggest going down the street to Living Color, which had a better select and more helpful staff. (I have no financial or social ties with either business.)

Very helpful staff. It's rare I cannot find what I need or want.I shop at both NE Portland stores and will continue to do so as both stores have stepped up to help me save money and use the better products for my need even when less cost was involved.

When shopping for wigs, service is horrible. First time I came, the old lady behind the counter said she didn't want to help me and that she'd rather help the other customer so the other employee assisted me. This time I come in and the same old lady is behind the counter and instead of helping me as well as the current customer she just stands there and assists that one customer and makes me wait. Finally a different employee has come and helped me after I have waited.

Very rude and unprofessional ownership. Refused to accommodate a simple exchange. Very dissapointed in the owners of this store. Will be taking business elsewhere.

Ridiculous policies. Bad prices. Only good thing about this place is you get to look at what you plan to buy....but oh, you must pay in order to try on wigs. The only reason they still have customers is because of the limited hair supply stores catering to black customers. If you’re of color and not asian, expect the asian employees, especially the men, to stare you down like you plan to steal something.
