The collection is nice - better than most of the other Charlotte museums. But I would not recommend making a special trip for the Mint. I would recommend going to The Triangle and exploring art there (for NC art). The facility itself is amazing: large, the art is displayed wonderfully, and well staffed. And, there seems to be a good amount of events for the public.

Well kept building which is history itself. The museum collection is excellent for such a small place and has artifacts that are locally relevant too. The history of the mint itself is informative but could use updating. The grounds are beautiful. The museum is a bit out of the way and not a place you will come to by chance.

I'm so glad I went to the museum on the suggestion of a friend. Outside of the unique art collection, the building and the art museum grounds are lovely. The staff, two ladies, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They really went out of their way to be kind. I was honestly having a down day and going here really made my day and cheered me up. I love how all the art work is sectioned off in different rooms. The experience is like journey. Probably one of my favorite art museums now.

The collection of South American art was awesome. They had this freaky burial urn used during rituals and this sculpture of a shaman wearing the flayed skin of a woman (so Ed Gein). I love this place.

Finally checked it out. Smaller than the one uptown but equally awesome. Check it out.
