This is one of my favorite places to visit! I have done a lot of traveling all over the world and I'm so happy to have the North Carolina Transportation Museum just a few hours from home. The facility is very well kept, the staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. It's really great that you can visit again and feel like you're in a completely new place. They have done an amazing job with the recent upgrades and I was so impressed on my most recent visit, which was by accident. Regardless of whether you have a full day to spend or are just passing through for an hour or so, I recommend stopping by and taking in this amazing place!

Lots of walking but loads of fun!!! Loved the trolley and the train ride The exhibits were very interesting. The staff we met were very kind and informative. We will definitely be taking our family back again. Also my autistic son loved it.

Stunning museum. Well kept, large, so much to see. Impressed from start to finish. If only visiting the museum it costs $6.24, a pittance for such a wonderful place. There is a train ride around the property for an additional fee that I didn't have time to experience. So many pieces of rolling stock, all of it in great condition. Be prepared to spend hours here to ensure time to see everything. I can't recommend this place enough, especially for the low entrance fee.

This place is a very well done location former rail yard. It has a variety of artifacts and information areas a good walk to get throughout most of it. Interesting to see the change in rail usage and Equipment over the decades. It's a mechanic's dream place to visit because they actually are still working on restoring some of the stuff and you can watch them doing it

Great use of former Southern RR property. Enjoyed walking through various historical buildings with the wide variety of trains, planes and automobiles. Walking tour took us about three hours (at a medium pace). Volunteers were great with answers to questions.
