I went to look into dog or cat adoption. Very nice facility. Emphasis on finding good...
Reviews
The facility is immaculate and the best I've ever seen. The animals are nice and healthy looking, however, the staff could use some home training when it comes to acknowledging visitors! My boyfriend (Caucasian) and I (African Descent) walked the entire facility and weren't greeted by either of the two front-desk receptionists. This behavior is unacceptable given people are likely there to welcome their new four-legged children into their new home. Get it together, ladies! Not all newcomers (with regards to those looking to adopt animals) will bare a striking resemblance to that of your ethnic background. For that reason and that reason alone, I rated my experience like so.

Totally amazing center. All the animals are well cared for and it's a no kill adoptions center. The center is extremely clean and the staff is wonderful. Thank you to all who work and help fund this center!!!

We originally adopted an American Bulldog from the shelter about 5 years ago. She was in our home about a year and we adopted a friend for her. A Bully/German Shorthair mix. They got along for over a year. 1 night we went away to Vegas, came home to the newer dog having been severally attacked by the 1st Bulldog. Apparently, it happens with 2 female dogs in close quarters. It doesn't have to be bully breeds. It can happen to any 2 female dogs.
We tried for 3 months to get them liking each other again, but it never worked.
We were allowed to bring the bulldog back to them after 4 years (which was very hard to give her up!), & we were allowed to come see her whenever we missed her!
She was finally adopted last week (6 months later) by a very nice family!
Ms Winkles has a great, friendly staff who all love animals. Adoption fees are the cheapest around.

Had a wonderful experience at Miss Winkles!! I went to see what kitty's they had & I fell in love with 'Tippy', a more black than white kitten, 6 1/2 months old. I named her "Inky Dinky" because she had so much beautiful black fur AND because she was so tiny. She came home to live with me & a BIG German Shepherd, Sparkle. Before I could take Inky out of the carrier Sparkle had had her huge head in the carrier & licked Inky's head. Two months later we are doing great! Inky is SO much fun. She takes her naps in the lap of my big orange stuffed Orangutan. She licks the end of my nose to awake me. She wears a pink dress that helps me find her plus she looks so darn cute in it. All this happiness this little fur ball has brought our home! Thank you to the staff at Miss Winkles, & hope everyone finds a diamond of a fur-pet like Inky.
