Mt. Pleasant Auto Service Center

I would not give this business my money. Took my CJ 7 in to address some steering problems and left turn signal that would not work. I was told it needed tie rod assembly, steering gear box and and steering tube. I questioned whether these repairs would really improve the steering, knowing that the steering tube and tie rod was replaced about 2 years ago. Rick guaranteed it would drive 100% better. I supplied the steering tube. He initially told me it was too short and couldn’t use it. I knew that was a lie as I purchased it specifically for this vehicle. A gear box costs $150, tie rod $150, and connector for turn signal $50. Total cost of repairs $1500!! That is some expensive labor. When I picked it up and test drove it, it was much worse and was not safe to drive. When I told him this, he said it was an old vehicle and that’s just the way it was. I left the vehicle and they tightened the steering gear box. . It now drives the same as the day I took it in. No better. After paying $1500 and driving off, I ran out of gas a half mile down the road. I called Rick and asked for assistance. He said they had no gas or gas cans and could not help me!! I had to call an Uber to go buy a $15 gas can and a gallon of gas. Thanks a lot Rick. You’re a great guy.

Incredibly nice and helpful! Stopped in immediately after noticing a bad smell of fumes. Owner came out, took a look and helped me fix a minor problem that could have been a major disaster for me down the road then made sure things seemed to be working right before sending me on my way at no charge. Would have been in big trouble without the incredible kindness of this helpful stranger. Can't thank you guys enough. You have a new client for my future needs!

Rick and his staff are really great. I started taking my cars there because they were in a convenient location for me and I have not been sorry. Rick is a good, local, family man and he and his staff are honest and want their customers to be satisfied. I highly recommend them.
