National Car Rental

Always a seamless experience. This trip to Portland Maine a stop at counter was required rather than Emerald Isle walkout service I usually have. The agent at the counter was a pleasure to deal with… listened to our hopes the type of car we usually pick in emerald aisle and he more than accommodated us ! Got us a great car that made our trip an extra pleasure. I will always use National. Also the return agent was quick and personable … five stars to National!

It is always a pleasure to deal with National. We were at a smaller than usual airport so a counter visit was required instead of going straight to the Emerald Aisle. Our representative was friendly and efficient, pointing out what vehicles were available and getting our contract in our hands quickly. Sometime during our rental period I noticed undercarriage damage that I knew I did not cause, but failed to see and report when we picked up the car. When I returned it, the staff made an effort to examine the damage and subsequently accepted my claim that I did not cause it.

Had a great experience with National. A flight delay caused us to arrive after the counter was scheduled to close but the National attendant waited for us to arrive and got our car. The car was brand new and we were thrilled all around with the quality of service.

We had an issue where the price increased from the time of booking to the time of pickup. It was a significant increase $330 to $1,300. Apparently, the discount code I used at the time of reservation was no longer valid. The staff member, Paul, at the Portland Maine National counter was very helpful. Even though they were very busy, he took the time with us to try to rectify the issue. In the end, we were able to agree on a price more reasonable than the $1,300 and receive an upgraded vehicle. All in all, Paul turned what could have been a very negative experience into a positive outcome.

I Live half the year in Maine and rent cars to travel for work to our businesses in the NE. Recently i had a terrific experience with Paul at the JET Portland location. Being an Exec member i asked for an upgrade and without hesitation he delivered. I’m actually looking to buy a new car and having the chance to drive different vehicles at your rental location is a big plus.

For the price the car was clean, met all our needs, had spacious trunk area. The staff @ National were great when we picked up. Had no issues @ all with this rental.

I joined National because of the Emerald Aisle and the idea that you can walk to the Aisle and grab your car if you have a reservation. When I arrived in Portland ME there was no Emerald Aisle. There were also no employees at the desk and I was sent to a sister company with one agent. The line was about 20 people deep and we spent at least 30 minutes waiting. Not what I was looking for in terms of quick service.

National makes car renting easy! After making the reservation, I just show up, my car is awaiting and away I go. If my trip gets extended due to weather or a flight cancellation, it is one quick phone call and my car rental is extended as well.

Great service and car at the Portland ME Jetport. Our rep Ali, I think did a phenomenal job guiding me through the car selection process and encouraging me to rent a particular car that was a dream to drive. Thank you!

No Emerald aisle for quick access and only 1 employee scrambling to do her very best with the very long line of customers. All other agencies had at least 3 or 4 employees working. Do better and staff properly.
