I have been a member for 37 years now, but I am leaving this credit union because their service has become atrocious. I joined while I was in the Navy and they used to watch out for their members, but now they let just about anyone join and they only care about their bottom line. The last straw for me was a fraudulent charge on my credit card by a hotel. I disputed the charge because the hotel canceled my reservation due to the hotel being overbooked. I gave Navy federal a copy of the cancellation email, but they want me to prove to them that the reservation was refundable and denied my dispute. Of course they are trying to blame VISA. If you decide to use this credit union, do not use their credit cards. You will have no protection. As for me, I will find another institution.
This branch is an excellent representative of the fiscally responsible and responsive credit union I've done business with since 1969. Ms. Adreina Mora is a particularly excellent person to do business with. She calmly and efficiently handled a multi-step transaction to cash some 30-year-old bonds, and gave me clear and helpful information about a transaction I'm contemplating. Highest recommendations!
We’ve done different things at this location from cashiers checks, car loans and attempted to get something notarized and one thing is consistent, the staff has no idea what they are doing. When we took out a car loan the employee COMPLETELY mistyped our account number, so the first month our payment was late because it didn’t automatically come out like It should have. The next issue is we needed our passports notarized, it should have been a simple photo copy of our passport ID page and the notary stamp. I tried to show her a picture on my phone of what it should look like, and she didn’t look at it to even attempt to try and figure it out. The staff member at the desk looked at us like we were speaking a foreign language or something at that request then turned us away. She also was not apologetic at all. She just said “we don’t do that” in a very questioning tone. If USAA had physical locations we would never do anything with navy federal again. So just a heads up if you take out a car loan with them verify yourself on their computer that the information is correct as well as if you need something notarized that’s not standard documents that they are used to seeing go to the UPS like a mile from the bank.
Someone posing as Navy Federal called us, obtained information and transferred nine thousand dollars to his account in a member to member transfer. That’s fraud according to State Farm Insurance. Navy Federal is slow walking the investigation and not restoring any of our funds under their Zero Fraud Liability Policy. The service is awful. Six thousand dollars is money that our disabled son saved up over several years.
The worst bank ever! Their transactions credit/debit on your account is inconsistent and unreliable to a point you don't know what is going on with it. Their costumer service is also horrible with operators giving you sass that is not needed and their wait times are up to 30 mins!!!! Probably due to costumers calling in complaining about why they are a horrible bank! Do not go with them find a different credit union because these guys will screw you over!
FYI-Local branches are closed on Juneteenth. I had to call the main number, enter my info, speak to a representative, give them my info for security purposes, then ask them if they were opened on this holiday to get this info about being closed on Juneteenth. Otherwise I love being a member of Navy Federal. A local number would be convenient though. It'd be great if Google could figure out convenience of listing holiday hours on their Hours list.
Adreina is quite possibly the worst banker. How she has been employed by NFCU for 12 years is a miracle. Albuquerque needs another branch with competent employees.
26 April 2022 This ABQ NFCU location 87110 is locked on and a special ‘kudos’ goes out to assistant manager Adreina M. Thanks for what you did for me today, Adreina! Is everyone ready for a reeeally interesting story? Of course you are haha! Read on… I received a loan check from another bank and I ‘tried’ to use their mobile check deposit option… nope. They contacted me two days later and said my loan check was not eligible for their mobile check deposit option of course this was after I wrote, “For mobile deposit only at _____,” on the back of my loan check??? I took it to NFCU and at first the teller said she couldn’t deposit it either since I’d written on the back of it not her fault, I could be a con artist. Anyway, I asked to speak to a manager and got to speak to Adreina. I explained my situation to her and showed her the correspondence from my other bank proof of rejection for my loan check. Adreina gave me the OK, I deposited my loan check, and was on my way. I have to wait two days for it to clear, but so what – it’ll be faster than mailing my check to my other bank in NC. Thanks again for your help today, Adreina. You could’ve told me “too bad, so sad,” but you didn’t. You made this a quick and easy process and I appreciate it. This NFCU location is good-to-go.
Great overall banking now for years over 28yrs . Sad ONLY 2 Tellers to handle banking.
Always friendly staff and little wait time. Switched from USAA because Nav Fed has an actual, physical branch
