Great environment, the Exec. Dir. Roy Nelson and Supervisor Jeff Jones are awesome great organization created by Ms. Lorraine Kerwood.
Wonderful local resource. Other communities would do well to emulate this business model. I've shopped here for years for products that are a fraction of what you would pay at the big box stores. The volunteer staff members are usually very friendly and helpful. It's my first go-to place for any electronics.
Next Step is the only step! They were so helpful and nice and remarkably affordable! Always heard good things and now I know why! But they don’t have a public bathroom!
Every time I come to Nextstep I am greeted warmly and I am always pleased with the service and cost savings. I have purchased several electronic components and TVs for my business. Nextstep is one of the best things about Eugene!
NextStep provides quality products with exceptional services at a very affordable price. They are a huge gift to people of modest means in our community. Their infinite patience and service to elders is unmatched. Shop here and donate your quality tech to them when you upgrade. This is a no lose stop!
We mac tonic have worked with NextStep for a number of years and they've always been great!
Call and ask them what they recycle and they tell you "pretty much everything". One of their webpages says "if it plugs in or takes batteries". The other says "If dropped off at our donation center during open hours; we accept almost all electronic devices working or not free of charge. We welcome a wide variety of items; computers of course, but also everything from christmas lights to microwaves." And so you load up the old electronic devices, head on down, pull up, get told "we don't that". Or that. Or those. Now I'm not going to fault the employee or volunteer, nor am I going to be rude to them. What I am going to say, publicly, is that NextStep needs to figure out what it is they do and do not take and make that very clear to the public. It's not terribly hard to update webpages with a list of things you don't take. And it sure would save not only the people using your organization to recycle but probably more importantly, your employees, a lot of aggravation. Because no, you don't take it "if it plugs it or takes batteries". In fact there seems to be a pretty long list of things you don't take. And that is fine, I get it, especially these days. But make that information public. It's that "almost all" you need to clarify. It's just a bit too ambiguous.
They had what I needed at a good price. They were friendly and helpful.
I love this place! I send all my old electronics here!
Such a wonderful recycling resource in our community. Free drop offs from 8:30-2!
