Perea's New Mexican Restaurant

Excellent food! Since my old go-to place closed down, Perea's is my new go to place for breakfast for tradition New Mexican food. Food is good and tasty. Chile was hot and the coffee wasn't too bad either. The only drawback to the place is it's a bit small. Get there early for breakfast or you may be waiting around a bit.

Great food: tasty, hot and nutritious. It took a long time to get a table/service, but only because the place was packed. Obviously, others believe the food here is great too. Also has very friendly service.

My family and I have eaten here at least once a month for over 20 years. The waitstaff is very familiar with us. This morning, we asked for chips and salsa as we always do. We were told there’s a $1.99 charge now before 11 am, even if you order lunch. The menu (same menu for many years) says first chips and salsa is free. We pointed this out to the waitress who pointed to a sign behind the cash register. We decided to leave and told the lady (I always thought she was the owner) at the cash register why we were leaving. A younger (niece?) waitress inmediately jumped in and said someone else makes the menu choices. This makes me wonder how many people have complained. Petra’s not only lost $25 today for two people (prices are steep but food has always been delicious), but they also lost the business of my entire family over $2 and the way they blatantly made us aware that being a customer for over 20 years doesn’t matter. With this kind of service, I won’t be surprised when they go out of business.

Great food and great service. The flour tortillas are homemade and large! Green and red are both good. They have hamburger meat in the sauce but you can also get vegetarian. Our server always made sure we had what we needed and that the food was good. This little place is in a former Long John Silvers. It is clean and neat. Highly recommend!

Love this place everytime I visit here. One criticism; there was very few eggs but lots of potatoes in my stuffed soapapilla. Red and green Chile are always wonderful.
