This is a very beautiful area. From High Desert Hills to Pine covered mountains. The desert part is very rugged and the ground is very beautiful with varying shades of pink and white and Red's. There are seasonal Creeps in some areas and year-round creeks in others. The weather can become extreme from snow storms in the winter to hot summer days. when you come to visit be fully prepared and you can have a great time.

Just a nice drive up Hwy 70 north of Pentz Road. This road is one of the most beautiful majestic drives in California. Every turn, every waterfall and every mountain gives you panoramic views. You course through the Feather River Canyon along the river. Your visual senses will be overwhelmed. You'll drive through mountains tunnels. Come across 3 hydrostatic dams run by PG&E. Multiple places to turn out and just take it in.
If your up for more adventures. There are hiking trails to see more spenders. You'll lose count on how many waterfalls you'll see. The river craved out the mountain valley very awesomely. Words and picture's don't give it justice.

I appreciate the freedom backpacking in a National Forest (as opposed to national park) provides. Plumas will not disappoint with its glacier carved lakes, crystal clear waters, tall trees, and rugged mountains.

Plumas national forest is breathtakingly beautiful. Drive highway 70 to the charming little town of Quincy for lunch or an overnight stay.
