Have used these guys past few years for service work on our pool. 2 days ago they came out to open it for the season. When the workers left they didn’t tell my wife and the left the gate to our pool wide open and they had broken the magnetic lock on the gate too. My wife found our 2yo walking towards the pool with gate wide open. She could have easily drown in there!! I called the company and talked to the owner that night. He basically made a bunch of excuses and said he’d have to talk to the workers. He said sorry the gate was left open but that was just lip service. He had ZERO concern that my daughter could have drown and that his workers were completely negligent. He kept making excuses saying he didn’t know if they broke the gate since he hadn’t talked to them. Gate was just fine that morning when I put chemicals out for them. He said he MIGHT call me back after he talked to them the next day. Well it’s been 2 days and no call. So I’m leaving this review with the hopes of saving others from our very bad and scary experience.

The nice folks at Pool and Patio are very knowledgeable about Pools and have a good selection of pool supplies available, close to home.

Pool & Patio has been my primary resource since I started taking care of our neighborhood pool over 15 years ago. Our pool has some unusual features I had never seen before. Pool & Patio helped fill me in on vinyl liners and local codes. They did excellent work on a liner replacement and rebuilding part of our deck, including replacing water lines. I have found them to be competitive, accessible, and competent. I place to continue using them as long as I have to maintain this 40 year old, 86,000 gallon vinyl monster with no floor drain and no skim trough.

Service is excellent, but the markup on products is exorbitant. Was billed $389 for a 1.5 HP replacement motor. This exact same motor is $200 from many online retailers. The $389 didn't even include installation! 5+ years being a customer, spending thousands over those years did not matter to them when I called to discuss consideration for the amount of markup charged. There are less expensive and just as skilled brick & mortar business in the KC area that can do this work for less. I just sold my home (with the pool). I will be advising the new homeowner take his business elsewhere.
