The Red Iquana never fails to be the best Mexican restaurant anywhere. I loved be in Montana but grew up in Salt Lake and loved it then. On a recent visit we visited it 4 times! Misty is the best waitress ever! She makes sure my dietary restrictions are met, so that I can still enjoy this sublime Mexican fare. Whether it is 1 or the newer 2 it is always worth the wait. Love this place. (The virgin margaritas were right on as well.) Don’t miss out.

I've been to Red Iguana twice, both times have been very good. We came on a random Saturday in early April and it was very busy, both Red Iguana and Red Iguana 2 (yes there are two locations, both within minutes of one another), about a 30-45 min wait for either. All the food looked great, but I feel as though the mole is the thing to get (a more traditional dish) and that you can't get at a lot of other Mexican restaurants. The Mole Negro was one of my top choices, this time I chose the Mango Mole (beware however that this is served only as two enchiladas instead of the standard style and you'll likely still be hungry).
If you want to try all the mole flavors, just ask and the waiter will give you a small plate with a sample of each to decide which you like best. The staff is friendly and the restaurant itself is courteous. When we were waiting outside in the chill rainy weather, the restaurant offered tiny cups of hot cider to the people waiting, definitely hit the spot. The host gave a woman a restaurant umbrella to use in the rain as she waited. And of course a waitress came by often to refill our chips and water a good amount of times. Considering all this even with the crowd, I'd recommend stopping here if in town

This may be the best Mexican food in the world? I love Mole sauce and that may be the best version of it yet? If food quality is number one priority? give it a try you will not be disappointed! Cant wait to try something new next time, Hope it is as good as the mole?

Wonder why there is always a long line to get into certain places? It is because they are freaking awesome and everyone knows it! I got here at 4:40 on a Wednesday evening and still had to wait for a few minutes to be seated. When I left around 6, there was a crowd of people waiting for a table.
This place has awesome Mexican food and a full bar with Mexican specialities like margaritas. A must try in Salt Lake City. From the outside, it looks like a bit if a dive, but the food is terrific! Definitely worth the wait!

You guys it's fine, but it's not that special. People gush over this place, but there are better places all over SLC. Everything I've had here is fine every time. Fine. Service is pretty slow, probably because they're always slammed. Probably why they blast the AC, which maybe helps them turn tables but the food is cold the moment it hits the table. Way overrated.
